Overview
Old River of Laurel is seeking an experienced Outside Parts Salesman for our Laurel, Ms. location. Old River is a full line Mack, Volvo, Hino, Isuzu dealership with 7 locations across Mississippi and Louisiana. This is a salary commission position.
Job Summary:
The Outside Parts Salesman will solicit parts and service sales to customers assigned by management as well as build relationships with new customers.
Compensation:
Base salary that will be discussed at interview will be given with possible monthly sales commissions if the sales goal is reached.
Duties will include but are not limited to:
1. Solicits the sale of truck parts marketed by the company to existing and prospective customers located within assigned territories. Maintains market penetration as required by the Parts Manager. Delivers parts and picks up cores and part returns from assigned customers as needed.
2. Assists customers with any problems which may arise in connection with the sale of the parts, including returns and warranties.
3. Maintains courteous and continuing relationships with customer base and working knowledge of customers' base industries and equipment needs.
4. Maintains a superior level of knowledge and expertise in the trucking industry in general, but more specifically with Mack, Volvo, Isuzu and Hino trucks. Attends such training courses and seminars as required by the Parts Manager.
5. Assists the Parts Manager with year-end inventory, and other miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
Our ideal candidate will have the following:
Ability to read and comprehend English instructions and information. High school diploma or the equivalent. Minimum 3 years sales experience in truck parts sales. A state issued driver's license in good standing. Ability to use Windows based computer systems, Microsoft Office excel/word, and read vendor catalogs. Excellent organization and communication skills.
